WDA LUNCHEONS
Luncheon Hostesses
2010 - 2011

A long tradition of the WDA luncheons is to have tablecloths and decorations as well as the normal cutlery, etc. on the table.  Prior to each new year, our Luncheon Committee Chair signs up volunteers to set-up, decorate (if you want - you do have a "right not to decorate!) and clean up.  We really appreciate those who take on this task and we always are surprised by new and innovative table decor.  This years volunteer hostesses are:

September 7 (pot luck)
Lynn Lawrance, Tanis Weiss, Nelda Davis & Kathy Calhoun

October 5 (catered)
Peggy Cargile, Betty Sanders & Karen McClendon

November 2 (catered)
Kathy Warner, Pamela Townsend, Irene Ellis

December 7 (pot luck)
Judy Smith, Lenna Webb, Jana Blackburn & Yvonne Norfleet

January 4 (catered)

Barbara Powell, Marge Neimann, Alma Ayres

February 1 (catered)
Paulette Cooper, Nina Bell & Sue Moyer

March 1 (catered)
Genie Fritz, Hannelore Daniel & Jeanne Clinchy

April 5 (catered)

May 3 (pot luck)

Pot Luck Luncheons

After our business meeting and program, the members and guests of the WDA move to Channing Hall to enjoy lunch and fellowship.  We have gone through many configurations as to how we procure food for the gatherings, but we have settle on a two pronged approach for the last many years.

Three times a year, we feature a pot luck where all our members and guests bring a dish to share.and we get to taste what good cooks everyone is!  At these luncheons we invite the church staff to join us which gives us opportunities to get to know them better.  The pot lucks are in September, December and May.

We send email reminders and personally phone those who do not use email.  We will ask for an RSVP so that we will know how many people to expect so we can have enough tables set up.

Catered Luncheons

The rest of the time, we have our lunches catered.  For the last few years we have used Margaux's Restaurant because everyone loves their meals.  Among the favorite menus have been:

Garden Greens
Cajun buttermilk dressing topped
with fried onion rings
Pan Sauteed Pork Loin
with jalapeno mustard sauce (optional)
Scalloped Potatoes
Mixed Grilled Vegetables
Dinner Rolls
Lemon Cake

Making you hungry yet?

On the months where the lunches are catered, there is a charge of $9.00.  Because we pay the caterer by the plate, if you are unable to attend at the last minute, you may be charged for your reserved lunch, if we are not able to sell it to someone who had not reserved one.

The catered lunches definitely require an RSVP so we can notify Margaux's of how many to prepare for.  We will email and call as a reminder the week before the meeting and will need a head count by the Friday before the Tuesday meeting.
